Plateau Youths Endorse Lalong for Second Term

The  Plateau Youth Council, an umbrella body of youths organisations in the state has thrown its weight behind the re-election bid of the state governor, Simon Lalong.

The decision to endorse the second-term seeking All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate was arrived during the extraordinary meeting it had with the governor in Jos, the state capital on Tuesday.

The youth group said the decision was anchored on the numbers of achievements recorded in fulfilment of Governor Lalong campaign promises to the people of the state.

They assured the governor of members' support not just to vote but also to mobilise massively for his re-election within the short time remaining before the Saturday governorship election.

In his response, Governor Lalong who first observed a minute silence in honour of late Senator GNS Pwajok who was present at the sitting in 2015, prayed for continued rest for the soul of the departed.

Lalong reminded his audience that at 55, he still belonged to them, assuring that with the signing into law of the 'Not too young to run bill' by President Muhammadu Buhari, the space has been opened for the young people to lead in their localities, in Plateau State and the nation at large.

He said having risen to where he is as someone without privileged background, every Plateau youth similarly has a future regardless of their background.
