Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has called on all sons and daughters of Owo to voluntarily pull their talents and resources together for the common goal and development of Owo.

The Governor identified the importance of collaboration between the government and the people as the needed tool for socioeconomic growth and development of the state. Governor Akeredolu stated this in Owo on Sunday, during the inauguration of 137 Owo Development Council (ODC) by Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, at his Palace.

The event marked one year on the throne of the Olowo of Owo. The ODC is an initiative of Oba Ogunoye, to actualise his developmental vision for Owo land. The governor who was inaugurated with some leading lights among Owo sons and daughters into the ODC, noted that he has before now consistently contributed his personal quotas to the development of Owo and assured that he would continue even after service to the entire state as Governor.

He also used the opportunity to appeal to all sons and daughters of the ancient town to rally round him to victory in the forthcoming governorship election for the continuity of his administration's purposeful interventions in the town and across the state. While commending the inauguration of Owo Development Council by the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, Governor Akeredolu said the initiative is a veritable means of advancing the development of the town and called on all indigenes and residents to apply themselves to the task.

Members of ODC also included former deputy governor of Osun state, Mrs Titi Laoye Ponle; Elder Simon Olakunri, SAN; Olusegun Olugboyegun; former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki; Chief Rotimi Ibidapo; Chief Olugbenga Ale; Dare Aragbaiye; Rev. Soji Gbadebo; Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede; Barrister Banji Alabi and Dr. Bode Ayorinde. Inaugurating the ODC, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, described members of the Council as committed personalities who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of human endeavours. He urged them to see their inauguration as a call to service, and as such put in their best to realise the set goals.
