Abia Polytechnic Rector Commends Governor Ikpeazu investment in Education

The Rector of Abia State Polytechnic, Dr Okorie Kalu has commended the giant strides of the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu in the education sector, saying the governor's love for education has resulted in the transformation in the sector.

He stated this while chatting with The Oduduwa Watch at the just concluded bye election into the House of Representatives.

Dr Okorie said the visionary governor has developed every sector in the state, infrastructure wise and  provision of social amenities to every nook and cranny of the state. 

He thanked the governor for the current facelift the polytechnic is going through, saying this can only be possible with the support of education loving governor.

"Our governor is a lover of education, that is the more reason education sector is one area that Mr Governor focused his attention. The huge budget on infrastructure within the polytechnic is to ensure students learn under conducive environment''.

Speaking on the poll,  Dr Okorie described the election as one of the most peaceful election he has ever witnessed. "This is the freest and fairest election I have witnessed where voters exercise their franchise without molestation or intimidation".

He commended INEC officials for their neutrality and conduct, believing that people's votes will count at the end of the poll.

He noted that the peaceful conduct of political parties involved in the election has shown that Nigerian politicians are becoming more mature in their conduct.

" Nigerian political gladiators are more matured now when compare to what it use to be. It is a gradual process, politics should not be do or die if truly they are very passionate about service to humanity".

He envisaged that very soon electronic voting will take over from the manual where voters can cast their votes for candidate of their choice without necessarily going to polling boot. 

He appealed to all the political parties to allow peace to reign after declaration of winner, saying in any contest, a winner must emerge.
