. newly elected chairman of the Port Harcourt City Local Government,  Hon Allwell has promised to complement the giant strides of Governor Nyesom Wike in his local government, saying he can't afford to fail the people of the local government. 

He stated this during the just concluded local government election monitored by Oduduwa Watch Correspondent in Port Harcourt. 

The Saturday election was won by all candidates of the People's Democratic Party for chairmanship and councillorship positions. 

Justice George Omereji (rtd), chairman of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) declared PDP candidates winner in all the 23 local government having met all requirement of the law.

Allwell said the victory of the PDP was a confirmation of Governor Nyesom Wike commitment to deepen democracy at the grassroots. 

"The achievements of the governor is enough to earns PDP victory in any election in Rivers State. There is no opposition in the state and for those that participated in the election, they have no choice than to abide by the result released by RSIEC because while we were campaigning across the 23 Local Governments, they were busy condemning the process even before the election".

He noted that the people of Port Harcourt City can be assured that more dividend of democracy would be brought to the grassroots and door steps of everybody. 

He commended the state electoral body for conduct free and fair election, saying the outcome of the election will no doubt be acceptable to every participant in the election. 

He thanked the people of the state for coming out in mass to cast their votes for the candidates of PDP, saluting their peaceful disposition before, during and after the polls.

In the same vein, Mr Chima Aguma who voted in Unit 26 commended the massive turnout, saying the landslide victory of Hon Allwell is well derseving, thanking the RSIEC and Security agencies for their conduct without being biased.
