Rivers LG Poll: Party Leaders, Stakeholders Commend RSIEC For Peaceful Election

Stakeholders and leaders of political parties have commended the peaceful conduct of Saturday local government election in Rivers State, saying River State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) conducted free, fair and credible polls. 

Speaking with the Oduduwa Watch, Mr Chizo mowo, PDP party chairman at Ward 3 in Faga Port Harcourt Local government Area Council stated commended the smooth process of the election and peaceful conduct of voters who exercise their franchise without molestation.

He further said that, the state electoral body, RSIEC live above board in its conduct of the poll which was adjudged as most credible election in the history of local government election in Rivers State.

Hon Chizo noted that, the turn out for the poll was very impressive as voters turned out in mass to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice.

He stated that, overwhelming support and massive votes cast for candidates of the People's Democratic Party were pay back votes for the good work of Governor Nyesom Wike in Rivers State.

"Mr Governor infrastructural development cut across all the local governments and many of his programmes were people oriented which culminated to massive votes for the PDP candidates. The infrastructural development in our community alone is enough to garner massive votes for our candidate".

The Ward Chairman said,  the emergence of the Hon Allwell has put smile on every body faces, saying the people's made the right choice, describing him as a good man that prioritise the welfare of his community. 

Also speaking at a polling unity in Orabali Faga Portharcourt local government,Mrs Lydia Amadi the Women Leader of the people Democratic party PDP acknowledged the women involvement in politics, saying their importance and roles cannot be underestimated. 

She said the victory of PDP candidates in the election has the backing of women who are always at the forefront when it comes to exercising their franchise on election day. " We mobilised our women for the election and the outcome is the victory for our party".

"Gone were those days where women place were at the background but today, the music has changed; we have taken our rightful position in politics, courtesy of our governor who believes women should be given a chance to display their God given potentials".

In the same vein, Mr Chima Aguma one of the leader in Faga LG commended the peaceful disposition of the election, congratulating Rivers State Government and RSIEC for a violence free election.
