And so on Friday , 22nd of April, 2022, death came nocking at the door of a Royal Father, who was an embodiment of intellectualism in Royalty, and the Veritable Custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition, and a certificated Monarch, His Imperial Majesty, IKu Baba Yeye, Oba ( Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemii 111, the Alaafin of Oyo.
His Imperial Majesty though had a brief illness but was recuperating before he wA taken to the Age Babalola University Teaching Hospital for a short rest, since everyone knows that IKu Baba Yeye with his endowed intellectual sagacity works round the clock tirelessly.
The dynamic medical experts at the State of the art teaching hospital gave the Alaafin the best services ever before he answered the divine call of God by bidding the world farewell.
The amazing this about Oba Adeyem's death was that the Paramount Ruleri was still smiling after he passed on to the great beyond , while his body was relatively warm as if he was still alive.

However, the demise of the Alaafin of Oyo has thrown the entire Yorubaland into mournful mood. Markets are not only under lock and key in the Oyo metropolis, as as cross section of residents in their thousands stormed the ancient Palace to pay last respect to their beloved Monarch.
Also some eminent Personalities in Yorubaland have been paying condolence visits to the Palace.
Among them were a distinguished Professor of Historian from the Obafemi Awolowio University, Ile Ife, Professor Akin Alao, a seasoned Journalist and the Baroyin of Itori in Ogun State, a Senator and Gubernatorial aspirant in the All Progressives Congress ( APC) Teslim Folarin, Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, the Olubadan of Ibadan land represented by High Chief Eddy Oyewole, and a renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Ajani Bello.
