Kebbi State New Judge Takes Oath Of Office


The Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Suleiman Muhammad Ambursa has administered oath of office and oath of allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria on eight out of the nine new commissioners ratified by the State House of Assembly at a ceremony presided by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu this Friday.

Those sworn-in at the colourful event at the Council Chamber, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, were Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan, Rt. Hon. Hassan Muhammad Shalla, Rt. Hon. Ja’afaru Muhammad Clean, Dr. Abba Sani Kalgo, and Alhaji Aminu Garba Dandiga.

The rest consisted of Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Magoro, Alhaji Mahmud Muhammad Warah and Alhaji Hayatu Bawa while Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Augie would be sworn-in at a later date.
Presenting the new Commissioners before Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, recalled that the Chief Executive of the State dissolved the cabinet on 7th September 2022 and forwarded the list of ten eminent personalities to the House of Assembly for approval on the 7th October 2022 in accordance with constitutional provisions.
Consequently, the Legislature ratified nine out of the ten nominees and forwarded the list to the government on the 13th October, 2022, of whom eight were sworn into office this Friday, 14th October, 2022.

In a remark after the oath taking, Governor Atiku Bagudu thanked members of the House of Assembly for being magnanimous in considering the request of the government to ratifying most of the nominees.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu announced that the list of another batch of new commissioners would be forwarded to the legislature for approval, appealing to them to extend similar magnanimity in the clearance of the nominees while hoping to resolve outstanding issues.

The Governor thanked the Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Suleiman Muhammad Ambursa, for his prompt response to administer oath of office on the new commissioners inspite of the short notice to the event.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu further commended the Deputy Governor of the State, retired Colonel Sama’ila Yombe Dabai who was present at the ceremony and the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, for making the event a possibility.

The Governor admonished the newly sworn-in commissioners to discharge their obligation to the people of Kebbi state, mandating them to prepare transition documents to assist in-coming administration.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu said wholesome report was required on the achievements of incumbent regime upon which the next government would build upon. 

He acknowledged that the newly sworn-in commissioners were public office holders with the requisite experience having served in that capacity before now and directed them to hit the ground running” as they assume scheme of affairs.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was immensely thankful to the Almighty God for the economic and social development achieved by Kebbi State, which he attributed to the good performance of the commissioners.
He directed them to be more innovative and rededicate themselves to the service of the people for a better life.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after swearing-in, one of the newly appointed commissioners, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan thanked Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for bringing them back to the state executive council assuring him that they would do their best for the development of the state and for the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2023 general elections.

Present at the swearing-in ceremony was the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Retired Colonel Sama’ila Yombe Dabai, Permanent Secretary, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Gwandu, Dr. Kabiru Muhammad Kamba, Technical  Adviser on Entrepreneurship and the Chief Registrar, Kebbi State High Court, Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru who accompanied the Chief Judge to the event.
