Land Speculators Unleash Terror in Oyo Residents Decry Insecurity, Seek Govt. Intervention

Unless the Oyo State Government takes urgent and drastic steps yo curtail nefarious activities of land speculators in one pgun area, lives of residents will continue to be endangered.

This is becuse activities  if these undesirable rlements who have turned themsrlves to syndicate have made land ownership a nightmare for potential investors in the area

The situation has become so bad to the extent that incidences of double or multiple land allocations has become the norm rather that the exception.

Many residents, fibdings revealed, have fallen victims to the dangerous activities of land speculators in the area with scores of them losing precious properties worth millions of naira, including lives in the process.

Some became hypertensive, while others have become living corpses as a result of the rapacious greed of these elements.

The disturbing incidence, it was learnt, is being fueled by the greed of some desperadoes .

The latest in the orgies of criminal activities by the land syndicate is the illegal acquisition  of land belonging to the Edu  Family in Ago Are by these desperate speculators following flurry of construction activities at One Oba in the community.

Briefing newsmen, the Public Relations Adviser to the riyal family, Olalekan Oyekola (FNIPR),  lamented that  large expanse of land were illegally sold by the syndicaye to many unsuspecting  indiduals, and were also issued with fake receipts  with forged signatures of some members of the riyal family.

Oyekola said early in September,  the royal family took frantic efforts to infirm the public through radio announcements that its land at Oke oba was not for sake,  it was baffling to find the syndicate of fraudsters parading themselves as land owners.

He therefore urged the State Government to save their souls by taking drastic actions to curtail nefarious activities of the dreaded syndicate.
