Alaafin Lauds Seyi Makinde Over New Fire Vehicls:Pledges To Rehabilitate Fire Station Borehold Destroyed But Hoodlum

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba ( Dr ) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, has lauded concerted efforts of the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde towards well-being of the pepple of the State.

Oba Adeyemi gave the commendation today when officers and men of the Oyo Zonal service led by the Principal Fire Superintendent, Mrs Salmon Abimbola Emiola paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.

According to Oba Adeyemi, ""s against Fire is a very important thing at work places as well as at homes. Every year large numbers of people die due to Fire.

"Fire Equipment is an indispensable one to ensure maximum protection against fire. The Fire Fighting Equipment also ensures safety of the Fire Fighters who risk their lives to save others."

The Paramount Ruler who also commended the Governor for fulfilling his promise of providing new modern fire fighting equipments to all fire service stations in the State, gave an assurance that the fire service borehole destroyed by hoodlums would soon be rehabilitated to facilitate effective service delivery.

Earlier, Mrs Emiola said the new fire fighting equipment will consume one thousand litres of water.

She said they were in the palace to present the new fire fighting equipment bought by the State Government to the monarch and also solicited the people's cooperation in fire fighting.

The new fire fighting vehicle is one of the ten vehicles procured by the State Government and distributed to all fire stations in the State
