Federal Lawmaker, Patrick Asadu Commends Enugu Governor on LG Polls

The Member representing Nsukka /Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Patrick Oziokoja Asadu on Wednesday expressed satisfaction with the conducive of the Local Government election held across the state, saying the poll was peaceful. 

It could be recalled that, Enugu State Government has declared Wednesday 23, 2022 as work free day to allow voters across the state to exercise their franchise. 

The Federal Lawmaker commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for allowing Local Government election to take place and also allowed the state electoral umpire to conduct transparent elections without taking sides with any of the participating parties. 

" Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has demonstrated that he is a true democrat with no biase tendencies. While some states are using caretaker to run their local government, Mr Governor ensure that Local Government should be held in accordance with the constitution".

Hon Pat, a four terms member of the Green Chamber said he was satisfied with the conduct of the local government election as voters trooped out in mass to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice. 

He noted that he is optimistic that his party will win the election overwhelmingly because of the giant stride of the Governor Ifeanyi laudable feats across the state. 

The Lawmaker further stated that, the party campaign vigorously in the wards that made up his federal constituency, noting that the people of the towns has promised to support PDP at the poll.

He promised to ensure that elected members to the council operate within the ambit of law and never abuse its office.

He charged members of the public to accept the result of the election in good faith, adding that they should maintain peace after the declaration of result.
