IBADAN AREWA RULER SUSPENDS HEAD OF HAUSA COMMUNITY IN SASA

The Ibadan Arewa Traditional Council under the leadership of Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Aliyu Dahiru Zungeru has suspended the Head of Hausa Community in Sasa area of Ibadan, Mallam Haruna Maiyasin due to abuse of power.

  This was made known through the statement issued to the newsmen on Wednesday 1, November 2023 by the Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland at his Palace Sabo, Ibadan, Oyo State. 

  

Speaking on the suspension of District Head of Hausa Community in Sasa area of Ibadan, Alhaji Zungeru stated that "It is sad to note that Maianguwa of Sasa, Mallam Haruna Maiyasin is now taking steps which capable of truncating the existing peace the state is enjoying with  plan to remove Sarkin Hausawa in Akinyele, Alhaji Ado  which was installed by Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland and the Chairman of Trailer Park, Alhaji Yaro Abubakar. Any attempt to remove them from office by Maianguwa of Sasa will be tantamount to an act of insubordination."

'It is in line with this and to avoid anything that can lead to intra or inter communal clash as we did experience before in Sabo-Sagamu, Sabo Ile-Ife and recently  Sasa Community in Ibadan that make all the members of Arewa Traditional Council led by me have decided to suspend the appointment of Mal. Haruna Maiyasin as the District Head of Hausa Community in Sasa area which this suspension shall stand pending the decision of the entire Arewa Community Council in Ibadan, Alhaji Zungeru said "

 

However, I am affirm to all relevant stakeholders, the indigenes and government of Oyo State even Nigeria at large that all Hausa Community in Ibadanland are law abiding and peace loving people. We have supported and shall continue to supports every individual, motive or process leading to peaceful coexistence among different ethnic groups in Ibadanland, He assured.
